The Rotary Foundation Director: Martha Bennett

The Lake Havasu City Rotary Club takes great pride in its commitment to community service. Members enjoy their work at the local level but they are equally committed to improving the lives of peoples all around the world. For many years our members have donated generously of their money, time, and talents to further the mission of The Rotary Foundation which is to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Rotary is currently focused on the following areas of service: * Peace and conflict prevention/resolution * Disease prevention and treatment * Water and sanitation * Maternal and child health * Basic education and literacy * Economic and community development Members have traveled to India, Africa, and Mexico to roll up their sleeves and work with local Rotarians and residents to build clean water wells, administer polio vaccinations, improve orphanages and schools and deliver much needed supplies, and provide wheelchairs to the homebound. The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. Unlike many service organizations, one hundred percent of the monies donated to the Foundation are used for service projects. Administrative costs are funded by returns on Foundation investments.
