PRESIDENTS MESSAGE…

Brian SpringbergWelcome to the website of one of the most outstanding clubs of the most extraordinary charitable and humanitarian organization in the world. The Lake Havasu City Rotary Club is comprised of approximately 70 members dedicated to each other, our community, the world and the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self”.

For the coming year of 2007-2008, we will continue to look to improve the lives of people in Lake Havasu City through various projects and financial donations. These include a fishing derby for underprivileged and handicapped children, providing dictionaries to all of our schools’ third graders, giving scholarships for our local community college, and supporting abused or homeless children through the Arizona Children’s Foundation to name a handful.

In addition, we will strive to participate on the global level by sponsoring both incoming and outgoing exchange students, building water wells for remote villages in India (through grants and the hands on effort of about 8 members!), supporting the needs of an orphanage in Mexico, and helping the handicapped through the Wheelchair Foundation by both purchasing and delivering wheelchairs to central Mexico. For years now our club has led our district on a per capita basis on giving to the Rotary Foundation and it is our goal to achieve this again in the coming year.

If you are a visiting Rotarian, we welcome you to attend our meetings and share in the fellowship of our club. We take pride in the works that we do, but we also take pride in having a true sense of friendship amongst our members, and extend that friendship to Rotarians from all over the world.

I look forward to the opportunity the club has afforded me as president, because more than anything, Rotary is an opportunity to improve the lives of others. I hope that you embrace your own opportunities and keep in mind the theme for Rotary this year; Rotary Shares.

Brian Springberg
07/08 President
